Privacy

This site has no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, and no cookies. The only personal information it handles is what you type into the contact form, plus a temporary record used to stop spam. This page explains both.

Who is responsible

Nikolai Angelo Ceballos, a freelance software developer based in Cagayan De Oro City, Philippines, is responsible for the information described here. You can reach me at ceb.nikolai.work@gmail.com.

What the contact form collects

When you submit the form on the Hire Me page, it sends me these fields:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Project type and budget range, if you select them
  • The message you write

I use this only to read your enquiry and reply to it. I do not add you to a mailing list, and I do not sell, rent, or share this information with anyone for marketing.

Where it goes

The form does not email me directly from your browser. It posts to this site’s server, which passes the message to Resend, an email delivery provider, which sends it to my inbox. Resend processes the message on my behalf, and it is based in the United States — so your enquiry is transmitted outside the Philippines and outside the EU/EEA in the course of being delivered.

Spam protection

To stop the form being used to send bulk messages, the server briefly records the IP address a submission comes from, along with the time, and refuses more than five submissions from the same address within an hour.

This record is held in the server’s memory only. It is discarded automatically after one hour, and it is lost entirely whenever the server restarts. It is never written to a database, never linked to your enquiry, and never used to identify or track you.

How long I keep things

  • Enquiry emails: up to 12 months, then deleted. If we work together, the correspondence is kept for as long as it is needed for that project and any records I am required to keep.
  • Spam-protection records: one hour.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no tracking cookies and loads nothing from third-party analytics or advertising services. Fonts are served from this site rather than from an external provider, so no one else sees your visit.

The only thing stored in your browser is your light or dark theme choice, kept in your browser’s local storage so the site looks the same next time. It never leaves your device and I cannot read it.

Your rights

You can ask me what information of yours I hold, ask for a copy, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email ceb.nikolai.work@gmail.com and I will respond within 30 days. There is nothing to pay.

Deleting an enquiry is straightforward: because I only hold the email you sent, removing it from my inbox removes it entirely.

These rights are given by the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012. If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you equivalent rights, and you may also complain to your national data protection authority. In the Philippines you may complain to the National Privacy Commission.

Changes to this page

If what I collect or how long I keep it changes, I will update this page and the date at the top.
